Spooky Tuesday’s Winter Episodes!
Happy New Year! Our hiatus is ALMOST over!
In the meantime, check out some of the wintery episodes we have done in seasons past!
Don’t worry, we will be back to weekly episodes on Tuesday, January 13th!
Season 1, Episode # 11: The Lodge (2019): "Masterclass in Gaslighting"
Cults — yikes, are we right? On our latest episode of Spooky Tuesday, we're talking about The Lodge (2019), which unfortunately isn't actually a lesbian ghost story and instead tackles the tale of a woman slowly losing touch with reality after she's forced to confront her rocky religious past. But, hey, at least it has Alicia Silverstone!

Season 1, Episode 15: Sleepy Hollow (1999): "The Power of Magic GPS"
Ever wanted to watch someone get impaled with a church post? Then Sleepy Hallow (1999) is the movie for you. A new Spooky Tuesday takes on the Time Burton classic full of iconic characters, dramatic swoons, and the best three- in-one death scene we've ever seen. The Headless Horseman isn't messing around, and he's not the only killer we're stanning in the fantastical flick.

Season 2, Episode 62: The Thing (1982): "Any Thing Can Be A Mouth"
The thing about The Thing (1982) is that it is super gross, actually — but it’s also full of absolute hotties. From Kurt Russell with his beard to Keith David with his earring to Richard Masur’s big gorgeous nose, pretty much everyone is serving looks, and given that it’s an all male cast (literally not a single woman among them, sorry to Alison Bechdel), there’s plenty of opportunities for things to get gay. As we journey down to the south pole on a new Spooky Tuesday, we’re gearing up for the winter weather with one of the best horror classics around.

Season 2, Episode 65: The Shining (1980): "Furry Representation"
The girlies are fighting, y’all. Ever since The Shining (1980) first smashed its way into theaters, Stephen King and Stanley Kubrick were at each other’s throats, arguing about whose version of the story is best, whose is a fancy car without an engine, and whose is by no means a serious literary work. On a new Spooky Tuesday, though, we just may have discovered that a combination of the two canons makes for the best understanding of the film — and we’re sharing our thoughts and theories as we break down one of the most famous horror movies (or straight up just one of the most famous movies) of all time.

Season 2, Episode 66: Jason X (2002): "Y2K Hottie Ghombie"
We’ve been joking about it for months, but the day has finally come: We’re covering Jason X (2002) on Spooky Tuesday. An unabashedly Y2K movie that dares to imagine a future full of clothing you might’ve bought at your local Limited Too, the tenth installment in the Friday the 13th franchise shows the ghombie himself getting frozen, going to space, and exploring virtual reality. Was it worth the wait? It depends on who you ask.

Season 2, Episode 67: Till Death (2021): "I Am Weed"
Here’s the thing about Megan Fox and MGK: Wouldn’t we all let ourselves go a little insane and get completely cringe for a chance to be with her???? We’re not willing to let a lil public daddy play get in the way of our love for a spooky queen, so when winter rolled around, we knew Till Death (2021) would be on our schedule. Released in the middle of summer to relatively quiet acclaim, we hadn’t heard too much about the Megan Fox vehicle, but we at least knew this: There’s no real way to go wrong when it comes to staring at her gorgeous face for a full 90 minutes.

Season 2, Episode 69: Snowpiercer (2013): "Fucking Polar Bears" ft. Kristian Bruun
Last week, we celebrated Matty Lilly’s birthday. This week, we’re celebrating our first celebrity guest as Spooky Tuesday welcomes Kristian Bruun onto the pod. In honor of his debut on season 3 of the Snowpiercer TV show, we asked him to throw it back to the 20teens and explore the original Snowpiercer (2013) movie with us. A Bong Joon Ho adaptation of a French comic, the flick is packed full of star power, incredible sets, and commentary on the world we live in. It’s also got Chris Evans slipping on a fish mid-fight scene, so you know it’s worth the watch, but what you’ll really want to tune in for is the back and forth as Kristian tries to decide exactly how he feels about that ending.

Season 3, Episode 112: The Visit (2015): "Grandkilldren"
Want to feel possibly the worst you’ve ever felt while also laughing a lot while also while also watching a child crawl all the way into an overlarge oven? Then we’ve got just the movie for you!! On this week’s Thanksgiving episode of Spooky Tuesday, we’re all about quality family time with The Visit (2015), a documentary-style flick from writer-director M. Night Shyamalan that will have you saying, “Shania Twain!” If that doesn’t make sense to you, don’t worry about it, because the only thing that you need to know going in is that Kathryn Hahn is super hot.

Season 3, Episode 121: Crimson Peak (2015): "Meat-Cleaved Mommy"
It’s official, Spookies: Love is in the air, and we’re celebrating the season with a whole slate full of haunting, horrifying heartbreakers. For all of February, Spooky Tuesday is combining the paranormal with passion for Romance Month, and we’re kicking things off with Crimson Peak (2015). This Guillermo del Toro flick not only delivers on the ghosts and gore, it also explores the true meaning of monstrous love. So what do you say — will you be our Valentine?

Season 4, Episode 167: Frozen (2010): "Stuck Porn"
It's more than a little unfortunate that when you ask someone if they've seen Frozen (2010), you have to first clarify that you don't mean the Disney princess movie. Once they ~let it go~, though, they just might discover that this flick is worth a watch in its own right. On a new episode of Spooky Tuesday, we're hitting the slopes to find out what happens when three college kids get trapped on a ski lift with no phones, no food, and certainly no magic ice powers. A cautionary tale about the perils of night skiing — and a potential entrant into the extended 47 Meters Down Cinematic Universe — this film offers a new option for one of the worst places to find yourself stranded.

Season 4, Episode 171: Misery (1990): "AJ's Make-A-Wish"
February is all about the romance — and when you combine that with horror, too often you end up with something that looks a little more toxic. That’s why we’re dedicating these next few weeks to all things Obsession, and we know just how to kick this theme month off. This week on Spooky Tuesday, we’re covering Misery (1990), the Kathy Bates classic that introduced us to such famous phrases as “cock-a-doodie” and “bitchly cow corn.” And to help us discuss the movie all about what happens when fans go too far, we invited on AJ, our #1 listener. What? It’s not like a little audience interaction ever hurt anyone before…

Season 5, Episode 217: An American Werewolf in London (1981): “Ho(rror)Ro(m)Co(m)”
Wait a second... Has one of the most famous monster movies in horror actually been a HoRoCo all along? Now that a new month is here (welcome to 2025, everybody!), we're continuing WWVVSDE (Werewolf vs. Vampire Seasonal Depression Event) with An American Werewolf in London (1981), a flick that manages to balance body horror and bisexual bed chem with surprising grace. Between writer/director John Landis's colorful comedic interjections and the legendary Rick Baker's intense, practical effects transformation, this film has a lot going for it, and we're digging our claws in on a new episode of Spooky Tuesday.

Season 5, Episode 218: 30 Days of Night (2007): “30 LAYS of Night”
Hold up — did we just travel through time? Somehow, it is simultaneously both January and Novembleak as we cover Josh Hartnett's 30 Days of Night (2007), this month's second entry into WWVVSDE (Werewolf vs. Vampire Seasonal Depression Event). Messy time-keeping might just be the theme of the episode too, especially as we take on a monster movie where the premise is that those nocturnal bloodsuckers of legend don't just have a few hours to hunt their prey, they've got four full weeks. Originally meant for the screen and then turned into a comic book and then adapted back for the screen, this story definitely had a vision, and we're ready to discuss how well it stuck the landing on a new Spooky Tuesday.

Season 6, Episode 262: Frankenstein (2025): “David Bowie’s Monster”
Is he hot or is he just 6’5 and made up of various large men’s most beautiful body parts? Is he hot or just played by Jacob Elordi in 10 hours of prosthetics on wobbly fawn legs and with a glimmer of innocence and curiosity in his eyes? On a new Spooky Tuesday, we’re talking about Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein (2025), and we’re asking the important questions, like who drinks milk? And what *is* the meaning of circles? Join us on our latest episode as we head up to the Arctic Circle to explore the nature of life and death, butterfly seductions, and generational cycles of trauma.
